Calling All Young Artists: FHCO Opens Its 24th Annual Fair Housing Poster Contest

The Fair Housing Council of Oregon presents its yearly Fair Housing Poster Contest, asking young artists from throughout our state to design a poster highlighting this year’s theme: “THEME HERE.”

Oregon students from first through eighth grades are encouraged to design and submit their poster, exhibiting the importance of FURTHER EXPLAIN THEME HERE.

Check out the poster designed by our 2021 Grand Prize winner, Annaliese DuPont of Portland, as well as our other terrific winners from this year and previous years.

The annual poster contest, now in its 24th year, provides the perfect opportunity to engage the youngest members of our community in open discussion about civil rights in housing. The contest educates youth on how fair housing law protects all Oregonians against illegal housing discrimination by promoting equitable access to housing and economic choices. Federal and state fair housing laws grant all Oregonians equal access to housing regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, familial status, disability, source of income, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, and status as a domestic violence survivor.

The winning contest entries receive cash awards and the chance to showcase their artwork throughout Oregon. Posters must be horizontally oriented on an 8.5×11” sheet of white paper or posterboard to qualify. All entries must be received no later than DEADLINE TIME AND DATE.
