Join C.O.B.L.A. and the Fair Housing Council of Oregon for a resource fair at Open Space Event Studios in Bend on Friday, April 21, for a Fair Housing Month celebration! You’ll learn about racially biased covenants in our local area as well as what to do to have them removed, plans for the future of the Good Deeds Project, and hear a public update to the initial findings of the Good Deeds Project in Deschutes County. The Good Deeds Project researches the databases of Central Oregon to find racially biased covenants and offer homeowners the tools to have them removed from their deeds.
Opportunities to volunteer will be offered. Learn about your housing rights and local programs designed to help people purchase homes. There will be a student art exhibit themed “What Home Is” showcasing art from local students in Bend on display. Music will be provided by We Black Radio/ WBR (Bend, Oregon). Food and Refreshments provided.
