For more than 30 years, the Fair Housing Council of Oregon has promoted justice, equity, and inclusion in housing. Throughout the years, we have recognized the importance of working closely with the many communities we serve, particularly in places across Oregon. Our work has included tours to every corner of the state to deliver trainings and conduct outreach and responding to complaints of housing discrimination statewide.
Our commitment to protect the housing rights of everyone in Oregon is greatly supported through partnerships with many groups across the state. I want to thank all our partners, donors, fair housing advocates, and other community members who continue to support our work.
These vital partnerships are critical in our work to eliminate housing discrimination in every community across Oregon. Our partners are creating and launching projects that further fair housing and increase access to housing for the most-impacted community members.
We know that safe and stable housing is about more than just having a roof over our heads. Housing connects us to job opportunities, education, health care, family, and the broader community. But what happens when you can’t find stable housing because of your race, ethnicity, national origin, sex, disability status, or another part of your identity? That’s where we come in. In the enclosed impact report, you’ll find examples of the work we do with our partners to support communities across the state.
Our work throughout Oregon continues to reflect our organization’s deep commitment to racial justice. We are examining the role race and identity play in the ways in which we serve communities, and we remain committed to better resourcing Black, Indigenous, and other communities of color. We continue to support the most-impacted communities through partnerships with front-line organizations, and in the coming year, we will expand resources dedicated to reporting and investigating housing discrimination and enforcing fair housing laws in local communities throughout Oregon.
Since 1990, we have worked hard to eliminate housing discrimination and ensure equal access to housing opportunity for all Oregonians. Your support helps support our vision of ensuring everyone in Oregon can live wherever they choose, free from discrimination. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Allan Lazo
Executive Director
