Poster Contest
Calling All Young Artists: FHCO Opens its 27th Annual Fair Housing Poster Contest
The Fair Housing Council of Oregon presents its yearly Fair Housing Poster Contest, asking young artists from throughout our state to design a poster highlighting this year’s theme: “Together We Build a Neighborhood.”
Oregon students from first through eighth grades are encouraged to design and submit their poster, exhibiting the importance of The Fair Housing Act and featuring diverse communities are strongly encouraged.
The annual poster contest, now in its 27th year, provides the perfect opportunity to engage the youngest members of our community in open discussion about civil rights in housing. The contest educates youth on how fair housing law protects all Oregonians against illegal housing discrimination by promoting equitable access to housing and economic choices.
Federal and state fair housing laws grant all Oregonians equal access to housing regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, familial status, disability, source of income, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, and status as a domestic violence survivor.
The winning contest entries receive cash awards and the chance to showcase their artwork throughout Oregon. Posters must be horizontally oriented on an 8.5×11” sheet of white paper or poster board to qualify. Entries that feature diverse communities are strongly encouraged. Try to think about the protected classes above. Please do not use glue or glitter. All entries must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. on March 3rd, 2024. Entries must be received by mail only, as our office is not currently open to the public.
To apply, please submit your artwork to:
