Join us on April 12th from 12:00pm-1:30pm for a fair housing presentation: Fair Housing and Inclusive Communities
This session will explore the connections between fair housing choice, Oregon’s current housing crisis and the need to develop diverse housing types that meet the needs of all citizens. We’ll examine historic and modern systems that segregate neighborhoods, unpack common myths behind Not In My Backyard attitudes and learn about successful housing developments around the state.
Jamie Gatewood joined the Fair Housing Council of Oregon as the Education and Outreach Coordinator in September of 2020. During this time, she has built trusted relationships with organizations and social service providers who serve protected class individuals and families, collaborated with local stakeholders to address barriers to fair housing and provided fair housing education to diverse groups across the state. Before coming to FHCO she worked in early childhood and outdoor education for twelve years, teaching students in the classroom, on a working care farm and serving families in their homes as a home visitor.
