Inclusive by Design: Meeting the Need for Accessible Housing

June 27 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

The relegalization of middle housing in Oregon has created an unprecedented opportunity to incorporate accessible units throughout cities. But our need for those units has also never been higher. This presentation will assess the current state of our accessible housing crisis, as well laying out strategies to address it through middle housing.

Samuel Goldberg is an Education & Outreach Specialist at the Fair Housing Council of Oregon (FHCO), where he focuses on history and Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH) trainings. He also coordinates the activities of the AFFH/Systemic Investigations Committee, a collection of land use professionals and FHCO staff which serves as a watchdog for local planning activities, strategizes how best to advance AFFH in state policies, and provides technical support for jurisdictions.

This event is happening in conjunction with Middle Housing Week, a statewide celebration of Oregon’s landmark reforms to dismantle exclusionary zoning. See the complete list of events here.
